Event and Floral Design by Isabella Sikaffy of Florabella Proving that you just never know when kismet might strike, these soulmates found each other at a SoulCycle class in Palo Alto. Kelley (the daughter of Judi and Jerry Finch) grew up in Atherton and attended USC for both her undergraduate and master’s degree in education. Jackson (son of Michael and Donna Garton) grew up outside of Sacramento in Granite Bay and attended Stanford for his undergraduate degree and MBA. Kelley relates, “I was living in L.A. but up north visiting my little sister. While at SoulCycle my sister and Jackson’s coworker decided to play matchmaker, introducing Jackson and setting us up on a date.”

The stars aligned and the pair began dating. Jackson proposed on a romantic ski trip to Whistler. Kelley recalls, “We loved to ski at Whistler. On this particular trip Jackson suggested we try dog sledding. Little did I know, but this had been prearranged and everyone there was in on the surprise. As a light snow began to fall, we were tucked in and off to the races.”

When the dogs came to a clearing, Jackson suggested they go see the view. Kelley followed and the next thing she knew, he was down on one knee. Following the proposal, the couple popped champagne and rode blissfully down the mountain in their dog sled.

The couple opted for a New Year’s Eve wedding in Sonoma at the beautiful Carneros Resort. Wine country is special to the couple because it is where they shared one of their first dates. The bride says, “We wanted our wedding to feel like a giant party, so ringing in the New Year with everyone with hats and horns was perfect.”

The couple honeymooned in Punta Mita, Mexico, and now resides in Menlo Park.

Special Touches

The Right Spot
Event designer Isabella Sikaffy created a spectacular seating card tree, which doubled as centerpiece in the reception’s clear tent under the stars.
Initial Impression
A dear friend of the couple’s designed a monogram for the pair that was used on everything from the invitation to the dance floor to the ribbon tied around Kelley’s bouquet of Lily of the Valley.
Favorite Moment
Surprise rose petal confetti cannons shot off right as Kelley and Jackson were pronounced husband and wife. The couple agrees that the photo of their pure surprise is one of their absolute favorites.
